Judo Canada will offer an online National Kata Judge certification for Ju-no-kata on July 9, 2022 at 12:00 ET.

(A French version will also be available on July 16, 2022 at 12h00 ET.)

All candidates must be:

1. A member in good standing of Judo Canada
2. Shodan or higher.
3. Have a full knowledge of the Ju-no-kata including a good knowledge of the IJF Kata Competition Judges Guidelines and Kata Competition Criteria for Evaluation.
4. Complete the online registration form (link below)

Fees:

1. Candidates: 75$
2. Observer: presently National or International certified Kata Judges: Free
3. Observer without certification: 30$

This online certification will consist of a

(i) Watching one recording prior to the seminar:

(ii) Three hours presentation on Zoom (link to be sent after the registration)

(iii) Exam on the Edbase website.

Each exam will contain 20 written questions. To be certified a candidate must have succeeded in a minimum number of questions:

– National : a minimum of 16 questions out of 20

Results will be announced one week after the exam.

A candidate who obtains between 14 and 15 good answers will have the opportunity to do a complementary oral exam of 3 questions in order to be promoted National.
