L\u2019an dernier, un total de 686\u00a0athl\u00e8tes s\u2019y \u00e9taient affront\u00e9s pour remporter les diff\u00e9rents titres nationaux, et nous pouvons deviner que le tournoi de cette ann\u00e9e conna\u00eetra un aussi grand succ\u00e8s. Plusieurs de ces athl\u00e8tes seront de retour cette ann\u00e9e afin de d\u00e9fendre leur titre, et peu nombreux sont ceux qui peuvent nous en parler aussi bien que Shady El Nahas.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.judocanada.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/18893052_10208968209390949_1021329853138584080_n.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-15182 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.judocanada.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/04\/18893052_10208968209390949_1021329853138584080_n-240x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"240\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Depuis quelques ann\u00e9es, son nom est associ\u00e9 au progr\u00e8s et \u00e0 la r\u00e9ussite. \u00c2g\u00e9 de 20\u00a0ans seulement, le judoka a d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 couronn\u00e9 champion canadien \u00e0 de multiples reprises, et quelques-uns de ces titres ont \u00e9t\u00e9 remport\u00e9s \u00e0 Calgary. \u00ab\u00a0C\u2019est important pour moi de me battre \u00e0 Calgary. Si j\u2019arrive \u00e0 d\u00e9fendre mon titre \u00e0 nouveau, \u00e7a serait mon dixi\u00e8me titre de champion national, et c\u2019est un objectif que je veux atteindre\u00a0\u00bb dit-il. \u00ab\u00a0Je me souviens de la premi\u00e8re fois o\u00f9 j\u2019ai remport\u00e9 un championnat national. J\u2019\u00e9tais euphorique. J\u2019avais travaill\u00e9 tr\u00e8s fort au gym et dans le dojo pour y arriver, et j\u2019esp\u00e8re ressentir ce sentiment de fiert\u00e9 \u00e0 nouveau dans quelques semaines.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Maintenant qu\u2019il a d\u00e9m\u00e9nag\u00e9 \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al pour se concentrer sur son entra\u00eenement, Shady se sent plus pr\u00eat que jamais. \u00ab\u00a0J\u2019ai pris de la masse, et je suis plus fort et plus rapide qu\u2019avant. Je crois que c\u2019est le plus gros changement entre ma premi\u00e8re participation \u00e0 Calgary et maintenant. J\u2019ai grandi, mais je me suis entra\u00een\u00e9 beaucoup aussi, et \u00e7a para\u00eet.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Lorsqu\u2019on le questionne sur ses adversaires, Shady affirme ne pas \u00eatre plus stress\u00e9 qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019habitude. \u00ab\u00a0Je n\u2019aime pas trop y penser,\u00a0\u00bb explique-t-il. \u00ab\u00a0Je ne suis pas vraiment stress\u00e9 jusqu\u2019au matin d\u2019un tournoi, ou juste avant un combat. Je ne suis pas inquiet par rapport \u00e0 quelqu\u2019un en particulier, car j\u2019essaie de penser \u00e0 la comp\u00e9tition comme \u00e0 un tout plut\u00f4t que comme des combattants individuels. Je traite chacun de mes adversaires comme s\u2019il \u00e9tait mon plus grand rival pour me permettre de donner le meilleur de moi-m\u00eame \u00e0 chaque combat.\u00a0\u00bb Il s\u2019agit clairement d\u2019une strat\u00e9gie gagnante pour lui lorsque l\u2019on sait qu\u2019il a d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9t\u00e9 couronn\u00e9 champion national 9\u00a0fois.<\/p>\n<p>Selon les r\u00e9sultats de l\u2019an dernier, les plus grands rivaux de Shady risquent d\u2019\u00eatre ses propres co\u00e9quipiers de Montr\u00e9al. En 2016 et 2017, le Qu\u00e9bec a constamment \u00e9t\u00e9 en t\u00eate du tableau des m\u00e9dailles (29\u00a0m\u00e9dailles d\u2019or en 2016, 27\u00a0en 2017), suivi par l\u2019Alberta et l\u2019Ontario.<\/p>\n<p>Comme de nombreux athl\u00e8tes avant lui, Shady voit d\u00e9j\u00e0 beaucoup plus loin qu\u2019un titre national.
