Montr\u00e9al, 3 juillet 2022 \u2013\u00a0Alexandre Arencibia\u00a0<\/strong>(Montr\u00e9al, Qc) a atteint la finale \u00e0 l\u2019Open europ\u00e9en de judo de Cluj-Napoca, en Roumanie, dans la cat\u00e9gorie des moins de 90 kg o\u00f9 il a bien bataill\u00e9 face \u00e0 Murad Fatiyev de l\u2019Azerba\u00efdjan. Arencibia a \u00e9t\u00e9 battu lors de cette finale, mais la m\u00e9daille d\u2019argent a r\u00e9joui l\u2019entra\u00eeneur\u00a0Janusz Pawlowski<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Alexandre a offert une tr\u00e8s bonne performance tout au long de la journ\u00e9e. Il prenait le temps de bien \u00e9tudier ses adversaires. Fatiyev a \u00e9t\u00e9 strat\u00e9gique contre Alexandre et \u00e7\u2019a jou\u00e9 en sa faveur. Fatiyev est l\u2019un des meilleurs au monde et Alexandre s\u2019est tr\u00e8s bien battu contre lui \u00bb, a expliqu\u00e9 l\u2019entra\u00eeneur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour se rendre jusqu\u2019au combat ultime, Arencibia a d\u00e9fait coup sur coup le Roumain Vlad Visan, le Moldave Iurie Mocanu et l\u2019Australien Harrison Cassar pour remporter son poule. Il a ensuite battu Aram Grigorian des \u00c9mirats arabes unis en demi-finale. Pawlowski a d\u2019ailleurs \u00e9t\u00e9 impressionn\u00e9 par la performance de son prot\u00e9g\u00e9 contre son adversaire moldave lors du deuxi\u00e8me combat de la journ\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Mocanu a \u00e9t\u00e9 tellement surprenant ! Il \u00e9tait fort et tr\u00e8s solide. Alexandre a d\u00fb changer de strat\u00e9gie pour \u00eatre capable de l\u2019emporter. \u00c7\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 un tr\u00e8s bon combat et il a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 un beau sens de l\u2019adaptation \u00bb, a remarqu\u00e9 Pawlowski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toujours chez les moins de 90 kg, la journ\u00e9e avait bien commenc\u00e9 pour Keagan Young<\/strong> (Markham, On) alors qu\u2019il avait lui aussi remport\u00e9 son poule gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 ses victoires contre le Roumain Rares Arsenie et le Slovaque Milan Randl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Young a toutefois subi une importante blessure au poignet lors de son affrontement de demi-finale contre l\u2019\u00e9ventuel m\u00e9daill\u00e9 d\u2019or Murad Fatiyev, ce qui a mis fin \u00e0 sa journ\u00e9e de travail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Keagan a \u00e9t\u00e9 tr\u00e8s bon durant ses premiers combats de la journ\u00e9e. Il a toujours trouv\u00e9 le moyen de marquer des points lorsque c\u2019\u00e9tait important. Son adversaire en demi-finale \u00e9tait vraiment imposant, Apr\u00e8s une projection, Keagan s\u2019est relev\u00e9 et a cri\u00e9 que son poignet \u00e9tait bris\u00e9. Il a continu\u00e9 \u00e0 se battre \u00e0 une main, mais a perdu malheureusement. Il a imm\u00e9diatement vu un m\u00e9decin ensuite \u00bb, a expliqu\u00e9 Pawlowski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019Ontarien a d\u00fb se rendre \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital imm\u00e9diatement apr\u00e8s son combat contre Fatiyev et a \u00e9t\u00e9 forc\u00e9 de d\u00e9clarer forfait pour son combat pour la m\u00e9daille de bronze contre le Turc Omer Aydin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Nous allons avoir plus de d\u00e9tails dans les prochaines heures, \u00e7a ressemble \u00e0 une dislocation pour l\u2019instant, mais il retournera \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al le plus t\u00f4t possible pour reposer son bras. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 tout simplement parfaite dans la victoire. Il devait y avoir une troisi\u00e8me participante dans la cat\u00e9gorie, mais elles n\u2019\u00e9taient que deux finalement, ce qui est un peu d\u00e9cevant. Nous avons la m\u00e9daille d\u2019or et c\u2019est ce qui est important \u00bb, a comment\u00e9 Pawlowski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En action chez les moins de 100 kg, Ian Ryder<\/strong> (Richmond, C.-B.) n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 capable de trouver le chemin de la victoire alors qu\u2019il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9fait d\u2019entr\u00e9e de jeu par le Roumain Luca Kunszabo, \u00e9ventuel m\u00e9daill\u00e9 d\u2019argent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

M\u00eame son de cloche pour Adriana Portuondo-Isasi<\/strong> (La Prairie, Qc) qui effectuait un retour \u00e0 la comp\u00e9tition dans la cat\u00e9gorie des plus de 78 kg. La Qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise a perdu ses deux affrontements de la journ\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

L\u2019argent pour Michelle Jorgensen \u00e0 Sao Paulo<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michelle Jorgensen<\/strong> (Kelowna, C.-B.) est mont\u00e9e sur la deuxi\u00e8me marche du podium au Grand Prix de parajudo de Sao Paulo, au Br\u00e9sil dans la cat\u00e9gorie des moins de 70 kg. La comp\u00e9tition s\u2019est d\u00e9roul\u00e9e sous la forme d\u2019un tournoi \u00e0 la ronde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Canadienne a remport\u00e9 son premier combat de la journ\u00e9e face \u00e0 la Br\u00e9silienne Michelle Aparecida Ferreira par ippon avant d\u2019\u00eatre vaincue par la Cubaine et \u00e9ventuelle m\u00e9daill\u00e9e d\u2019or Dalida Rodriguez Clark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Le groupe \u00e9tait petit, mais tr\u00e8s exp\u00e9riment\u00e9. Les deux adversaires de Michelle \u00e9taient d\u2019anciennes m\u00e9daill\u00e9es paralympiques. C\u2019est la premi\u00e8re fois qu\u2019elle faisait face \u00e0 des athl\u00e8tes de l\u2019\u00e9lite mondiale et elle a prouv\u00e9 qu\u2019elle avait sa place. Je suis persuad\u00e9 qu\u2019elle aura une ascension fulgurante vers le sommet mondial de sa division \u00bb, a remarqu\u00e9 l\u2019entra\u00eeneur Andrzej Sadej<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
