Montr\u00e9al, 9 mai 2026 \u2013 En action au tout premier Grand Chelem de sa carri\u00e8re samedi, \u00e0 Astana, au Kazakhstan, Lowan Le Bris a tout donn\u00e9 chez les moins de 73 kg, poussant son adversaire jusqu\u2019au temps suppl\u00e9mentaire, o\u00f9 il a finalement \u00e9cop\u00e9 d\u2019un troisi\u00e8me shido, ce qui a imm\u00e9diatement mis fin \u00e0 l\u2019affrontement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pour l\u2019entra\u00eeneur canadien Antoine Valois-Fortier, cette premi\u00e8re sortie de Le Bris en Grand Chelem, face \u00e0 un adversaire exp\u00e9riment\u00e9, le Fran\u00e7ais Maxime Gobert, m\u00e9daill\u00e9 d\u2019or \u00e0 Antalya, en 2023, est de bon augure pour le futur du jeune Canadien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le combat a dur\u00e9 un total de 6 min 49 s et le judoka de 18 ans a offert d\u2019excellentes s\u00e9quences offensives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Lowan est encore tr\u00e8s jeune, mais il a un potentiel \u00e9norme. Il venait ici pour prendre de l\u2019exp\u00e9rience chez les seniors. \u00c7\u2019a \u00e9t\u00e9 un combat serr\u00e9 et tr\u00e8s tactique et il semble d\u00e9j\u00e0 avoir appris \u00e9norm\u00e9ment d\u2019un duel comme celui-l\u00e0. C\u2019est le m\u00e9tier qui rentre et je suis optimiste pour ce qui s\u2019en vient \u00bb, a comment\u00e9 Antoine Valois-Fortier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard \u00e9tait \u00e9galement en action samedi chez les moins de 63 kg. Apr\u00e8s une victoire d\u2019entr\u00e9e de jeu face \u00e0 la Kazakhe Samalay Yergaliyeva, la Qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise a subi une blessure \u00e0 un genou lors de son deuxi\u00e8me combat de la journ\u00e9e contre Gankhaich Bold, de la Mongolie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beauchemin-Pinard n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 en mesure de poursuivre le duel et a \u00e9galement d\u00fb se retirer de son combat suivant au rep\u00eachage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Son combat face \u00e0 la Mongole allait super bien, elle engageait et effectuait les bonnes pouss\u00e9es. Par contre, en attaquant, elle est tomb\u00e9e au sol et dans un deuxi\u00e8me effort, elle s\u2019est bless\u00e9e. Le combat s\u2019est imm\u00e9diatement termin\u00e9. Je n\u2019ai pas \u00e9norm\u00e9ment de d\u00e9tails pr\u00e9sentement, mais \u00e7a ne semble pas trop majeur. Elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 super dominante au sol \u00e0 son premier combat, c\u2019\u00e9tait un classique de Catherine, honn\u00eatement \u00bb, a expliqu\u00e9 Valois-Fortier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De son c\u00f4t\u00e9, Fran\u00e7ois Gauthier-Drapeau a \u00e9t\u00e9 limit\u00e9 \u00e0 un seul combat dans la cat\u00e9gorie des moins de 81 kg. Il s\u2019est inclin\u00e9 face au Br\u00e9silien David Lima apr\u00e8s avoir profit\u00e9 d\u2019un laissez-passer au premier tour. Selon l\u2019entra\u00eeneur Valois-Fortier, il s\u2019agissait d\u2019un des meilleurs affrontements de Gauthier-Drapeau face \u00e0 Lima, un adversaire qui lui a souvent donn\u00e9 du fil \u00e0 retordre par le pass\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Il a offert une tr\u00e8s bonne opposition, mais il a commis une erreur tactique t\u00f4t dans le combat et son adversaire a marqu\u00e9. \u00c0 partir de ce moment-l\u00e0, c\u2019\u00e9tait le jeu du chat et de la souris. Il le chassait et est pass\u00e9 bien proche de l\u2019avoir, mais \u00e7a n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 suffisant \u00bb, a conclu le pilote canadien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coralie Godbout (-78 kg) sera la seule Canadienne en action dimanche lors de la derni\u00e8re journ\u00e9e d\u2019activit\u00e9 au Grand Chelem d\u2019Astana. Elle croisera le fer avec Khuslen Otgonbayar, de la Mongolie, \u00e0 son premier combat de la journ\u00e9e.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
