Judo Canada is currently looking for two new volunteers to fill some key roles in the organisation.  Look at the opportunities below and send us your resume if you meet the criteria (send it to the attention of Adrien Landry – ed@judocanada.org).  Judo Canada is always looking for dynamic people who want to help us grow the organisation.  Deadline to submit your resume is July 21 2014.

Grading Committee – Chairperson

  • Eligibility:
  1. Must be a member in good standing with Judo Canada
  • Criteria:
  1. Must hold at least a 6th degree (Rokudan) black belt recognized by Judo Canada
  2. Must be at least a national level certified Kata Judge recognized by Judo Canada.
  3. Must have experience serving on a national or provincial grading committee
  • Responsibilities:
  1. Implement the Terms of Reference for the National Grading Committee and the National Grading Syllabus
  2. Review black belt promotions to ensure rank eligibility is met
  3. Work with the Judo Canada staff to deliver on the organisational Strategic Plan
  4. Collaborate with other national and provincial committees
  • Term and workload:
  1. The position is for 4 years but Judo Canada reserves the right to reassess the duration of this mandate
  2. The position requires some travel for a yearly committee meeting, the annual general assembly, and 1-2 high rank evaluations. Travel expenses are covered by Judo Canada.
  3. Excluding the travel load, the position also requires about 100 hours per year of administrative/coordinating work to support the grading program and the  committee.

Kata Committee – Chairperson

  • Eligibility:
  1. Must be a member in good standing with Judo Canada
  • Criteria:
  1. Must be a national level certified Kata Judge recognized by Judo Canada.
  2. Must have experience judging kata at the National Championships.
  • Responsibilities:
  1. Implement the Terms of Reference for the National Kata Committee and the policy for the National Kata Judge Program
  2. Work with the Judo Canada staff to deliver on the organisational Strategic Plan
  3. Collaborate with other national and provincial committees
  • Term and workload:
  1. The position is for 4 years but Judo Canada reserves the right to reassess the duration of this mandate
  2. The position requires some travel for a yearly committee meeting, the National Championships, and the annual general assembly.  Travel expenses are covered by Judo Canada.
  3. Excluding the travel load, the position also requires about 50 hours per year of administrative/coordinating work to support the Kata Judge Program and the  committee.
