During the past season due to the restrictions resulting from the Covid pandemic, Judo Canada developed a hybrid delivery system of coaching courses.  The Competition development course is delivered in a “blended” learning format with the first part of the training delivered in an on-line environment and the second part delivered in person on the mat when the conditions for such gathering of coaches allow for it.

This course will be delivered in English only.

The on-line sessions will take place on the weekend of July 31st /August 1st. and will include 3 on- line sessions:

  • Saturday, July 31st 9:30-13pm (EST): Session 1 – Welcome/Introduction/Overview – A. Sadej; Referent Model – A. Sadej;  Performance Analysis – TBD
  • Saturday, July 31st: 13:45pm-17:00 (EST): Session 2 –  Maximum efficiency principle from perspective of Biomechanical Principles – Garry Yamashita;  Strength & Conditioning – TBD
  • Sunday, August 1st  : 9:30-13:30pm  (EST): Performance  planning;  designation of tasks for at home preparation of portfolios; review of distributed resources; designation of tasks to prepare for the on the mat session. A. Sadej

For the on-line session each participant has to work on an independent laptop.  These sessions are interactive and participants will be frequently moving between different rooms.  The session will be delivered on  Zoom platform.

The number of participants in these sessions is limited to 12 and 7 coaches are already registered. The next registrants will be accepted on first come/first served basis.

All candidates will have to register there and  pay the full fees of $510  which will include all the resources to be distributed in electronic format,  the on-line sessions, the in-person session – (two days on the mat and in the gym – to be scheduled later this year in early fall; considering that majority of candidates are from the Atlantic region, the in person sessions will be arranged in that region – exact location TBD), review of the portfolio and evaluation.
