From June 29 to July 1st, 2018, Montreal will host the Canada Cup at the Complexe sportif Claude-Robillard. We are finalizing the technical specifications, but we can already confirm certain details:

Cadet, June 29, 2018:

For the Cadets, this will be a Panamerican Cup qualifying for the Youth Olympic Games to be held in Buenos Aires (Argentina) in October 2018. The minimum requirement for participation will be to have taken part at the open Canadian championship 2018.

Junior, June 30, 2018

For Juniors, it will be a Panamerican Cup counting in the World Junior Ranking. The minimum requirement to participate will be to have taken part in the 2018 open Canadian Championship.

For Cadets and Juniors, the IJF rules of organizations will be respected. That means that the coaches will have to respect the IJF dress code for the draw and the finals. Also, all registrations will have to go through Judo Canada and the IJF DATABASE system.

U16 & Senior, 1st of July

For these two age groups, it will not be an IJF sanctioned tournament, but an open tournament that will count for the Canadian ranking. All Judo Canada members are eligible to participate.

The event will be followed by a week-long training camp at INS-Q.

We are also pleased to announce that the event will be supported by the Government of Canada’s funding program.
