Montréal, May 12, 2013 – Ecaterina Guica, Arthur Margelidon and Alix Renaud-Roy all made their way on to the podium at the Junior European Cup, this weekend, in Lyon, France.

 Ecaterina Guica (52 kg) won the silver medal, Saturday, after finishing the day with a record of three victories and one loss.

 In the under 73 kg category, Arthur Margelidon walked away with a 3rd place classification after posting 4 wins in 5 bouts. Competing in the same division, Étienne Briand was eliminated in his very first fight.

 Alix Renaud-Roy (70 kg) also claimed a bronze medal, climbing the podium after finishing with a 3-1 record.

 The Ontarian Monika Burgess, fighting in the under 63 kg class, recorded a 5th place classification thanks to a mark of three wins and two losses.

 Antoine Bouchard (66 kg) was in action on Saturday.  He finished with two wins and two losses on the day, failing to receive a classification in the progress.  “Antoine kept on fighting despite suffering a shoulder injury in his second bout,” coach Pedro Guedes indicated.

 The Ontarians Zachary Burt and Jonah Burt, both competing in the under 81 kg class, were unable to record a victory. While Zachary lost his one and only bout, Jonah succumbed to defeat on two occasions.
