For over a decade, the International Judo Federation has been organizing World Judo Day, celebrating it on the 28th of October to commemorate the birthday of Jigoro Kano Shihan, the founder of judo. This year’s theme for the event is “Bring a Friend,” with the aim of encouraging more participants to join in the celebration.

The concept is simple, in the days preceding and following, and obviously on 28th October, invite friends, relatives, acquaintances, to come and practise judo with you. Take the opportunity to talk about our sport, its history and its values (courtesy, courage, honesty, honour, modesty, respect, self-control and friendship).

Everyone is invited, everyone is welcome, everyone can join you so that we can grow the judo family.

We enthusiastically invite you to join us in large numbers. For extensive details about the event, we encourage you to visit the IFJ website, where you’ll also find the option to download diplomas, logos, and posters.
