Learning process continues for three judokas in Sweden

29 December 2020Montreal, January 12, 2011 – Judo Canada wishes to congratulate Marc Deschênes and Yacintha NguyenHuu as recipients of the Brad Farrow Bursary. Each receives $2,000 to help them pursue their athletic development. For each of the past three years, this bursary named for a three-time Olympian and 11-time national champion, is awarded to promising athletes not yet on the national team.
‘’Brad is a successful businessman today and this is his way to give back to his sport,’’ said Hiroshi Nakamurawho coached Farrow as well as Nicolas Gill. ‘’He wants to help youngsters not yet eligible for Sport Canada carding that work hard and are dedicated to the sport of judo.’’
For Marc Deschênes et Yacintha Nguyen-Huu, the additional financing support offer by the Brad Farrow bursary comes at a perfect time. “That money will allow me to do more competitions and to hopefully get my carding” said Yacintha Nguyen-Huu. “I am happy and proud to receive the Brad Farrow bursary. This will allow me do more tournaments and get more experience”said Marc Deschênes.
