Judo Canada is a non-profit organization working to promote the principles and teachings of the sport of Judo and to work towards the advancement of Judo throughout Canada
Judo Canada is presently seeking a National team Sparring partner to support Judo Canada’s High Performance plan, leading to sustainable medal performances at World Championships and Olympic Games.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Support the implementation of Judo Canada’s National Team Programs, as designed by the High Performance Director/Head Coach (HPD/HC) and approved by Judo Canada.
Organizational Structure
The National team Sparring partner reports to the HPD/HC.
Main responsibilities:
Attend daily trainings at the National Training Center as requested by HPD/HC.
Conduct and participate in sparring in training and practice sessions as needed.
Assist the National Training Center Coach in delivering the daily trainings.
Develop identified athlete’s potential skills and abilities.
Prepare and motivate identified athletes for competitive events.
Will be required to travel with Senior National Men Team from time to time.
Act as sparring partners for Senior World Championships 2017
Qualification Requirements:
Demonstrate world class level as a Judo Competitor athlete over the last 3 years. (Re: world cup gold medal)
Demonstrate the ability to withstand world class daily sparring.
The candidate must be able to communicate in English or French.
The candidate must accept that the employer will require security and background checks from Canadian authorities.
University bachelor degree required.
Commencement of employment: August 1st 2016
Salary: 24 000$ without benefits but with 2 weeks holidays annually.
Condition: Full time position (30 hours a week) of a 2 year duration.
The National team Sparring partner will work from the National Training Center in Montreal located at INS-Q (4141 Pierre de Coubertin, Montreal). All applications will be confidential.
