International Day of Sport for Development and Peace will take place on April 6th, 2014

The UN General Assembly declared the 6 April as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace in late August 2013. The adoption of this day signifies the increasing recognition by the United Nations of the positive influence that sport can have on the advancement of human rights, and social and economic development.

In conjunction with the UN, the IJF and Judo Canada encourage clubs and judokas to celebrate this day in their community.
