Three Canadian Kata teams attended the Nordic Judo Kata Open in Kristianstad, Sweden on August 26, and each finished the day with a medal:

In Kime no Kata Mario Pageau and Martin Vallieres of Quebec took the bronze medal.

Ju no Kata saw two Canadian teams on the podium: Aiko Lachaine and Danielle Ferland of Quebec won Silver, while Wesley Enns and Kelly Palmer from Alberta took Bronze.  Also noteworthy in this category is that the Gold Medal went to World Champions from Germany, Wolfgang Dax-Romswinkel and Ulla Loosen.

Finally Kelly Palmer and Wesley Enns won the Gold in Katame no Kata.

Canada was also represented by Gilles Lachaine, an IJF Kata Judge who acted both as a Judge and a mat chief.

The weekend was rounded off with a full day clinic on Sunday by Wolfgang Dax-Romswinkel and Ulla Loosen covering many fine details.
